The second edition of Timbre’s annual Rock & Roots festival returns for a two day ho-down by the Marina Promenade from April 15-16. Last year’s launch saw the likes of Gipsy Kings and The Fray headlining. This year’s absolutely bonkers line-up will be marquee by the living legend of folk-rock Bob Dylan and a soul musician going by the name of Legend, John Legend that is. Completing the festivities are massive names in jazz and indie such as Imogen Heap, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Toots & The Maytals and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.
The great thing the fest is still taking shape so expect more exciting acts to be announced in the coming anticipation-laden weeks. This marks Imogen Heap’s second appearance in Singapore a little over a year – keeping true to her promise of a swift return made onstage at last March during her showcase at the Esplanade. The main draw however should be the rare chance for local audiences to catch a certain celebrated 60-year-old singer-songwriter live. Dylan, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Toots & The Maytals and local band Raw Earth are scheduled on April 15 while John Legend, Trombone Shorty and Imogen Heap close out the fest on April 16.
GetWize: Public ticket sales begin from February 5, with a priority booking period for OCBC Card Members January 21-February 4. Tickets from S$70-S$200 available via SISTIC.
