Tormenta Tropical is a place where the underground sounds of the U.S. and Latin America collide. From cumbia crunk to baltimore baile and dancehall electro to sonidero hip-hop, the night is an international soundclash where the first and third world party side by side.

LOS RAKAS
Hailing from Panama but now residing in Oakland, Los Rakas blends Hip Hop, Reggae and Dancehall music with Spanish and English lyricism creating songs that leaves your head noddin’ and body rockin’ for more. Los Rakas (DunDun and Rico AKA Filthy Rich) tag team the mic with a tenacity reminiscent of Old School veterans in the Hip Hop game, and the energy and passion of the newer cats on the scene.

DISCO SHAWN and ORO11
These two Bay Area DJs hooked up in the Buenos Aires DJ scene and quickly bonded over a shared love for the cumbia rhythms dominating dance floors across Latin America. Looking to bring some of these sounds to the other side of the equator, the duo recently launched Bersa Discos, a new label committed to releasing experimental cumbia and tropical music here in the United States.
