Last Friday Noise Pop and Another Planet Entertainment announced the dates of the third annual Treasure Island Music Festival. This year the festival will take place on Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th. On Saturday, the festival will dedicate two stages to electronic and dance oriented acts and Sunday will feature a line up of national and local indie rock favorites.

The festival takes place on Treasure Island, located right in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. SPIN.com calls the festival a "full blown love affair," not entirely surprising since San Francisco is, of course, the city of love (thank you, 1967).

The two-day festival has featured acts like The Raconteurs, Vampire Weekend and Thievery Corporation in the past and this year the festival promises not to disappoint. Stay tuned for updates from MetroWize on Treasure Island's line-up to be announced early this summer.
