This week, LA welcomes everyone's favorite the Pixies, punk and new wave revival band the Bravery and LMFAO teams up with Shwayze at the Hollywood Palladium.
Pixies @ Hollywood Pavillion
Boston based alternative Rock band the Pixies will be taking their mix of punk and indie rock to the Hollywood Pavillion for three nights in a row. The group who has been together since 1986, besides a brief breakup from 1994-2004 is expected to release their first album since getting back together, in the beginning of next year. Don't miss the band who has been praised by David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, Radiohead and more.
Bravery @ The Wiltern
Post-punk revival and new wave New York City band, The Bravery have opened for the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, U2, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Incubus, The Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day and more. They have played at Coachella, Lollapalooza, SXSW and their lead singer has a penchant for getting naked on stage. On tour promoting their third album "Stir The Blood" released earlier this year, they will be bringing their New Wave, post-punk revival sound to the Wiltern this Wednesday night.
Vampire Weekend @ Pappy and Harriets
Time to look on Craigslist and buy your tickets, because Vampire Weekend's show at Pappy and Harriets is sold out. The band that describes themselves as "upper west side soweto," formed in their senior years at Colombia University. They were one of the best breakout bands of 2008 with their debut album "Vampire Weekend" which was called the 10th best album of 2008 by Rolling Stone. Expect to hear a lot more from these guys when they release their sophomore album "Contra" mid January.
Avi Buffalo @ The Ecco
Indie/Folk band, and local sensation, Avi Buffalo got started when founder Avi started recording songs his sophomore year of high school. Eventually, Avi got discovered in long beach while playing an acoustic set with friends, he convinced his girlfriend Rebecca Coleman on vocals and they began playing what they like to call "Polished and unwholesome pop" all over LA. Tickets are $8 at the door.
Matt Costa @ Detroit Bar
Folk/indie rock music sensation Matt Costa was planning on becoming a pro-skateboarder but he shattered his leg skating in 2003. During his 18 months of recovery he turned to the guitar. In 2005 he opened for Jack Johnson's tour, and released his debut album "Songs We Sing." Since, he's supported Modest Mouse and the Vandals, and has toured with G. Love and Donovan Frankenreiter and an instrumental version of his single "Mr. Pitiful" was used in the iphone 3GS commercial.
Robbie Rivera @ Vanguard LA
Puerto Rican born house music producer and self-taught DJ Robbie Rivera started his own record label in 1998 called "Juicy Music." He has since remixed for Madonna, Pink, Basement Jaxx, Kylie Minogue, Bob Sinclair, Ferry Corsten and Santana. In 2007 he released his first album as a DJ titled "Do You Want More." On a continuous world tour, Robbie in known for playing dirty electro-influenced house, grab your tickets for $15.

Electronic music innovator, globally recognized DJ and live performer Audion is the founder of acclaimed electronic dance music label "Spectral Sound." He will be joined with DJ, label owner, producer, event organizer, club operator, publisher and journalist DJ T, Shaun Reeves, and Dinky. Grab your tickets for $15.
LMFAO @ Hollywood Palladium
They're in LA, bitch! LMFAO will be hitting up the Hollywood Palladium with Shwayze and Special Guests Space Cowboys, Far East Movement and Paradiso Girls. The electro-hop duo, dropped their album in July 2009 titled "Party Rock" and have been making a name for themselves ever since.
