Vesta Trattoria and Winebar has been a great place to enjoy delectable Italian food and wines in the eclectic Astoria, Queens, neighborhood over the years. But now Vesta is taking its dining experience to a whole new level, offering a unique way to enjoy liquid grapes. No longer will tap beer will be the only adult beverage flowing from drafts. That's right, wine from taps.
Vesta has installed a four-tap system at its quaint eatery. While many people might, at first, scoff at the thought of sipping vino from a keg, reactions have been otherwise quite favorable, with the end result pretty much the same. Environmentally speaking, tap wine produces less garbage because of the less packaging involved, making it more affordable by the glass. And it even taste better because of no corking and oxidation.
As for the menu, it's packed with tasty entrees such as its Sunday-style, (just like Mom makes) three-meat Lasagna, Malfaldine—summer squash, goat cheese and toasted walnuts, and Trivelli—roasted corn, crispy pancetta, basil and mascarpone. So, chow down and let your cup overflow with a splendid glass of vino.
GetWize: Vesta offers brunch ever Saturday and Sunday from 11:30-3:30. Dinner times vary; Sunday and Monday 5-10; Tuesday-Thursday 5-11; and Friday and Saturday 5-12. Vesta is located at 21-02 30th Avenue in Astoria, Queens. Phone – 718-545-5550.
