Your summer schedule may be packed with a ton of free stuff to do nearly every day of the week, but you should squeeze in one more thing: a new concert series put together by none other than KCRW and the Annenberg Space for Photography. Appropriately titled, "Who Shot Rock And Roll," this FREE summer gem is going to be one of those must-see events of the season.
Who Shot Rock And Roll is part photography exhibit, covering rock and roll history, and part music extravaganza with some big name bands and DJs. The first performance is July 14th, with Moby slated as the evening's performer and a DJ set with KCRW's Jason Bentley (host of Morning Becomes Ecclectic and the guy with the super smooth radio voice). Portugal. The Man will perform a tribute to T.Rex on July 21st, with KCRW DJ's Dan Wilcox and Gary Calamar. The final performance in August 4th is going to be a sight to behold, with a musical nod to Bob Dylan, featuring Raphael Saadiq, Band of Skulls, and a DJ set with Anne Litt.
So yes, with heavyweights like Moby, Portugal. The Man and Raphael Saadiq, you'd be pretty lame to skip on a free performance. All shows will be held at the Anneberg Space for Photography, beginning at 7pm sharp. You can also RSVP to each show beforehand and enter to win a free deluxe VIP gift bag here. On top of all this greatness, you'll have a rare chance to see some of the most recognizable shots in rock photography in-person. It doesn't get any sweeter than that!
