This new Alice in Wonderland themed lounge, situated at Cahuenga and Franklin, is a bit off the beaten Hollywood path, but this doesn’t stop it from drawing a crowd. Upon entering Wonderland, it’s easy to see why. A girl dressed as a sultry Alice greets you with a sweet treat at the door. The ceilings are golden and garnished with huge upside-down mushrooms. Life sized topiary chess pieces decorate the interior and red roses adorn the walls. Designed by Tony Schubert (Les Deux, Event 11) this club skips nothing. It is as if you are entering into a posh fairytale. Half open air, the lounge is well ventilated, enough so those who wish to smoke are not banished to the outside. In the winter months, heaters are provided so that relaxing club goers can stay toasty. In addition, guests are encouraged to enjoy the booths until they have been purchased, something that one rarely experiences in the Hollywood club scene. With a variety of unique cocktails, delicious appetizers, and 4,200 square feet of club space to enjoy, Wonderland is truly a delight. There may not be a white bunny to follow down the rabbit hole but the scantily clad Alice-themed go-go dancers seem to suit everyone just fine.
Get Wize: If you get all dolled up and arrive on a Tuesday, you'll find no amount of crumpets will get you in the dorr. The club is only open Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 10pm-2am, so schedule your visit accordingly, and call ahead to find out about special events.
